THOUGHTS: I first saw Phantogram back in September of 2013 when they opened for M83 at the Hollywood Bowl. I enjoyed their set then … but I REALLY enjoyed their set at First City Festival. It was interesting to see them perform after a month of honing their stage performance. I really had a sense that Sarah Barthel’s presence on stage magnified 10 fold. Her movements and command of the stage, even behind her keyboard, were bold and authoritative. It was such a pleasure to watch … plus, she’s got killer legs … ok … I digress.
