THOUGHTS: Lindsay Troy and Julie Edwards are Deap Vally. I caught them perform a midday set at Lobster Fest back in 2013 when they were supporting the release of their first full-length album. Blues/Indie rock that is comparable to the White Stripes and the Black Keys, this female duo are a force of nature and can rock as hard as Jack, Dan and Patrick. The Drummer, Julie Edwards, is particularly fun to watch perform live. Her wild, red hair whipping back and forth with every pound of the drums is, in and of itself, a spectacle to behold. I’m looking forward to their next album.
